Do I need to have prior firearm experience?
If you have zero experience with a firearm, we suggest starting with our intro to firearms course.
Do I need to bring my own firearm?
All of our training courses include a live fire portion. Bosque Tactical cannot loan or rent firearms however you are more than welcome to borrow a firearm from a friend or family member.
What type of handgun should I bring?
There is no right or wrong answer to this question. We suggest a semi-automatic pistol for all of our courses, however a revolver is acceptable also.
Does my handgun matter for my CCW qualification?
Yes, whichever type and caliber of handgun you use for your live fire qualification will dictate which type and caliber of handgun you will be licensed to carry. If you use a semi-automatic 9mm to qualify, you will be licensed to carry a semi-automatic 9mm (or smaller caliber) firearm.
Should I use the largest caliber possible for my license?
The largest caliber you are able to use is a .45acp. Some people like to qualify with a .45 so they are able to carry any handgun they choose. You are welcome to do this. However, we suggest that you qualify with the handgun, or at least the same type, you intend to carry.
Do you offer private courses?
Yes, we love offering private courses for groups of friends, families or co-workers. We also offer one-on-one courses for people if they would prefer. Reach out to us to get more info.
How old do I have to be to apply for a NM CCW license?
You must be 21 years old in order to apply for a concealed carry license?
Do I have to be a NM Resident to apply?
Yes, New Mexico only issues CCW licenses to residents of the state.
How often do I need to renew my license?
In order to keep your concealed carry license active, you must complete a refresher course between 23-26 months after your license is issued. You must then renew your license ever 4 years.
